Who are the Three Ladies Capturing the NFR?
These three ladies along with Click Thompson are heading to Vegas to capture every moment of rodeo action, but they’re doing it a little different this year.
In previous years, photographers were set to either shoot behind the scenes or in the arena. But this year all four photographers each doing both.
First time NFR photographer Alexis Cady, featured in the October issue, has already started preparations. “The more prepped and organized that I am the more stress that can be taken away. It’s very high pressure and a lot of responsibility so I just want to make sure that I show up there with the best mindset possible.” Cady stated.
Hailey Rae, featured in the August issue, returns for her third NFR with a clean slate after feeling like she didn’t have the best outcome last year. The new format for photographers this year has Hailey coming with a more creative mind. “This year is new where we are shooting both in and out of the arena so it is a lot different in that aspect, but I think it will be great it will keep us from burning out as sometimes it’s hard to come up with different ways to shoot after you get to the middle rounds. So I’m excited to work both angles and I’m also headed into trying to be more creative than I have been in the past as well.” Rae explained.
Returning to the NFR for the fifth time Roseanna Sales, featured in the September issue, is thrilled to see the change for photographers after there had been talk surrounding the subject for a while. Outside of the change, Sales is excited that her family will be attending their first NFR this year. “I didn’t come from a rodeo family and my parents, sister, and some of my family will be in the audience for their first NFR and I’m super excited for them to experience it with me.” Roseanna stated.
We couldn't be more thrilled to have had such talented women photographing the NFR this year. We wish safe travels and good luck to Hailey, Alexis, Roseanna, and Click as they prepare to document rodeo history.
